i suddently have the urge...

...to make bread...what the hell is wrong with me??!! ted leaves for 24 hours and i suddenly get the notion that i can get all domestic? somebody stop me before i set our building on fire...alas, i know if i give in to this urge, disaster is quite likely. either that or a really big mess. as long as i clean it up by monday night, i'm sure ted will never know...so don't any o' y'alls say nuthin!

the prettiest profile EVAH!

...who knows...maybe i have a flair for making bread that's been lying dormant within my being and it's finally waking up. i guess this would be a good time to find the apron. and an easy recipe. hmmm. maybe i'll put all that beer in the fridge to good use and make a simple beer bread...

peek-a-boo!

...but don't you think cadence would look so cute with a speck of flour on her nose and cheeks and forehead and chin? i should do it just for the photo op. yeah, i'll have CADENCE make the bread, and i'll be in charge of the camera.

i have to admit that i envy my more kitchen savvy friends. my friend jenn baked her daughter ada TWO cakes for her 2nd bday party, and both were works of art. and my friend esther thinks it's no big deal to whip up a lasagna and a key lime pie to bring over to our place for dinner. oh, and next time it'll be carrot cake, she says. and then there's our sister-in-law ali who can whip up anything from scratch. i'm sure ted's enjoying having someone else cook for him while he's visiting charles and ali in seattle.

well, we'll see if any bread gets made. oh, i did find an extremely easy recipe for pesto polenta lasagna, so i think i'll be making that sometime this weekend. now to find a bread recipe that i can possibly handle without destroying our kitchen entirely...
